Hello scholars ! My name is Ismael Ramos, some call me Izzy. This week’s assignment is actually very interesting.
It’s called branding yourself.
I want to reflect on who you are and incorporate an inanimate object into what you are.
Please prepare an ‘advertisement’ (ie Tag Line- this one should be a hint as to, What you are) for this assignment you cannot be human, you can be an inanimate object (ie ruler, rubber, toy), a living thing other than human being or animal (ie oxygen/air, plant). This assignment should be no longer than 1 page and again should include at least two of your interest areas.

Perfect friend
I am the reason for the smile on that child’s face and the happiness he holds in his heart. I take center stage at every birthday party. I bring people together, both big and small. I end arguments and has been referred to as every household’s friend. I can be the life of every occasion or can stay under my little hut and watch movies with my close friends. I am universal and get along with everyone. Who can’t love me? If you ever feel like your sad, depressed or even happy, remember I’m just one call away. I will comfort you and give you strength. Too each I’m its own; I can be wild one day and sweet the next. I’m very easy to get along with and will be the perfect listener to every story. I come in many sizes and I am pizza.

I am a jack of all trades yet master of none. You can take me almost anywhere and I will fit in just fine. I'm constantly learning and evolving into something new. I'm set up in such a way so that I never become obsolete because I'm always keeping up with the current trends so I can provide the best service to my customers. I am a smartphone which in my opinion is the best example available of interdiscliplinarity.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have guess that you were a smartphone. I was thinking more of a pin or something lol. Your example is pretty amazing because we have to be diverse and smartphone is basically that.

ReplyDeleteI am a component of your everyday routine. You wake up and think about me. You go to class, get bored, and think about me. You think about me as the sun starts to set outside. I am a pivotal part of the night when you are trying to impress someone on a date. I encourage people to communicate and bring pure joy to peoples face when they know I am about to make my big appearance. I come in a variety of shapes and sizes, textures and flavors. I am food.
ReplyDeleteThis assignment has just furthered my love for all things food related. Also, it has made me realize the incredible relationship between food and communications. Going out to grab a bite or even sitting down for dinner with your family encourages conversation. When you gather around a table with your family and friends, eat a fantastic meal, and go around telling stories you have the makings of a magical night.
I love your piece. I was trying to figure it out just by reading the second part of it. I like how you describe you think about me before the sun starts to set outside. Good job!!

DeleteI am what makes a child comfortable at home or school. I travel many places and make them happy. I know they look for me when they are sad and need a pick up. When they want to make a playful game I am what they pick up. I am what they cuddle with at the end of the night.
ReplyDeleteThis assignment makes me think that just because I'm not human that things are useful in different ways. This assignment is probably going to make me look at things very very different. Maybe that my writing or pictures are just pieces they can actually mean more than that to other people.

ReplyDeleteI bring happiness to people. I can be completely quiet or fairly noisy. I am extremely useful and business like. I am capable of doing many different things. I can bring sorrow or joy to you. I can make you laugh or make you cry. Both good and bad news come through me. I can comfort you or hurt you. I can be incredibly professional or extremely casual. I can show you anything you desire. I am an ipad :).

ReplyDeleteI keep track of a film. I am the timeline of the life of film. I track and calculate each individual scene and take. I make sure the film stays on cue. If the actors get off track I am the one who you reach for and with one click I put them back on track. If mayhem ensues I am the one to right it again. I am there from beginning to end. I am consistent, the one keeping time, tracking moments. I am the one who makes the end goal a success.
The insights I have gained from this assignment are how to look at my focus areas in a combination of ways. My areas are very different and yet they can be combined to meet my end goal. This exercise made me understand my focus areas as one. I know how to make them work to my advantage in the future. With Public Relations and Film I can use the fact that PR mainly fixes others problems and film can do the same thing but in different ways.
I really enjoyed your post. I learner a lot about a film slate but I also think that the description describes a focus and organize individual. Great example!
DeleteI am full of information. I am interesting. I can teach you about subjects that you don't know about. I know about many subjects and areas of study. I focus on things like science,history and the arts. I can be found in the library I am an Encyclopedia.
ReplyDeleteI had a difficult time with this post I was trying to connect may brand or object with science or even with education. I was stumped. I think this a good excercise for teacher and instructors to utilize because it is descriptive. Making connection.is essential to interdisciplinary studies student and to teachers.
